Scouten Engineering was contracted as the Civil Engineering consultant for Building ‘D’ at Pine Centre Mall in Prince George, BC by Morguard REIT. We provided design services for the storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water service connections and coordinated site survey. We also prepared the site grading plan and servicing plan to work with the proposed layout. Construction was completed in June 2019.
Project Description
Scouten Engineering was the Civil Engineering consultant for Building ‘D’ at Pine Centre Mall in Prince George, BC. The building contains three commercial units that are tented by two restaurants and a bakery.
Scouten provided design services for the storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water service connections as well as coordinated the site survey. The storm system incorporated the use of a recharge chamber and an underground pipe network. The sanitary sewer included a sanitary lift station with duplex pumps and a force main that connected to an existing sanitary catch basin. A water line was supplied to the building to support the building sprinkler system as well as an additional fire hydrant in the parking lot.
The site layout was provided by the prime consultant, Petroff Partnership Architects | ARK, and Scouten prepared the site grading plan and servicing plan to work with the proposed layout. The design went through several cost saving iterations, including rotating the building on the site to avoid conflicts and relocations of existing storm infrastructure as well as optimizing the extent of disturbed area.
