Scouten Engineering was engaged by Linden Fabricating to manage design of their Prince George fabrication shop. Scouten acted as the coordinating registered professional (CRP) for the project and coordinated drawings and building permit requests. Scouten provided architectural, structural, and civil designs for the project as well as a code review.
Project Description
Scouten Engineering was engaged by Linden Fabricating to project manage the design of their fabrication shop in Prince George, BC. The building structure was a pre-engineered steel building on cast-in-place concrete foundations complete with an office area and paint booth.
Scouten acted as the CRP for the project, which included coordinating drawings and submitting for building permits. Scouten provided the architectural, structural, and civil designs for the project. Electrical was completed by NRS Engineering and Mechanical was designed be CJP Consultants. The structural design for the project including the foundation design for pre-engineered steel building, crane beams, and interior second floor design for the office area.
Scouten also provided a code review to confirm travel distances, egress routes, and fire separations throughout the building. Scouten worked with Geo North Engineering to confirm the validity of using onsite stormwater recharge chambers because no existing connection to the city storm system was present. Other civil components included site grading, utility connections and establishing the building position on site.
