Project Summary
Scouten Engineering was contracted by Carrier Sekani Family Services to assess and determine onsite issues regarding the building structure, specifically the foundations, site drainage, and water infiltration, of an old courthouse they had recently purchased. Scouten Engineering prepared a report, and later, detailed drawings for structural remediation work and site grading as well as RFP documents, contract documents, and reviewing of bids for the tender process.
Project Description
Carrier Sekani Family Services had purchased the old courthouse building located at 492 Highway16 Burns Lake, BC in 2017. The structure had some known structural deficiencies that required further investigation and remediation. Scouten Engineering performed a detailed assessment of the property and determined onsite issues regarding the building structure, specifically related to foundations, site drainage and water infiltration.
Upon completion of the assessment Scouten Engineering prepared detailed drawings to repair the foundations including shoring plans to facilitate the repairs, install perimeter drains and a water proofing membrane. In addition to the structural remediation work, regrade the parking lot and other site grading was completed to direct runoff water away from the building.
Scouten Engineering also facilitated the tender process of the project including the preparation of RFP documents, contract documents and reviewing of bids.
