Highway Bridges and Grade Separation Structures
Scouten & Associates Engineering Ltd. provides
conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of
highway bridges and grade separation structures
in accordance with CAN/CSA-S6 Design of Highway
Bridges or other governing design codes. Design
services are available for all substructure and
superstructure components, and ancillary features
such as approach roadworks, guardrailing, sidewalks,
etc.
Scouten & Associates Engineering Ltd. has direct experience in the design and construction of precast concrete structures, with both conventional and pre-stressed reinforcement systems. We designed a grade separation structure for the BC Ministry of Transportation that utilized precast, post-tensioned 'tub girder' segments, acting compositely with a high strength, cast-in-place concrete deck.
Other structural systems for bridges and grade separation structures, including trapezoidal steel box girder and conventional plate girder arrangements, have been designed by Scouten & Associates Engineering Ltd. In all cases, the design drawings are produced to the highest level of standard specified by the relevant approval agencies
